Flow measurement under extreme conditions

the ROSES group ist ein welt­weit agie­ren­des Unter­neh­men, das auf die Inspek­ti­on und Instand­hal­tung von Pipe­lines / Rohr­lei­tun­gen spe­zia­li­siert ist. Die gemein­sa­me Ent­wick­lung des EMAT Flow­me­ters begrün­de­te einen neu­en Geschäfts­zweig: das berüh­rungs­lo­se Mes­sen von gas­för­mi­gen, flüs­si­gen, dampf­för­mi­gen sowie mehr­pha­si­gen Medi­en im Inne­ren einer Pipe­line. Mehr noch: der Flow­me­ter ist das ers­te „sicht­ba­re“ Pro­dukt der ROSEN Grup­pe. Mög­lich ist die­se Anwen­dung durch Nut­zung der EMAT (Elec­tro­Ma­gne­tic Acou­stic Trans­du­cer) Tech­no­lo­gie. Hier­bei wer­den Breitband-Ultraschallwellen durch die Pipe­line gesendet.

The ROSEN EMAT Flowmeter consists of two units:

The sen­sor gene­ra­tes 360° ultra­sound direct­ly in the pipe wall and can be retro­fit­ted to a wide varie­ty of pipes and pipe dia­me­ters.
Extre­me con­di­ti­ons - insi­de and out­side. Becau­se not only the loca­ti­on is diver­se, but also the medi­um. Tem­pe­ra­tures from -40°C to 650°C can occur insi­de the pipe­lines.
The­r­e­fo­re, the choice of mate­ri­al for the con­ver­ter housing is very limi­t­ed. A robust metal frame con­s­truc­tion, which is held in place by two end caps, ensu­res pro­tec­tion against the wea­ther and mecha­ni­cal influen­ces. The­se were desi­gned in such a way that they can be manu­fac­tu­red in small series using the inex­pen­si­ve rub­ber pad pres­sing pro­cess.
A pro­fi­led sheet metal housing cover, which is also reflec­ted in the design of the con­ver­ter, ensu­res maxi­mum lon­gi­tu­di­nal rigi­di­ty. This pro­ces­ses the mea­su­re­ment data and pres­ents them to the user on dis­plays.
Its explosion-proof metal housing accom­mo­da­tes the sen­si­ti­ve mea­su­re­ment elec­tro­nics. Seve­ral con­ver­ters are able to com­mu­ni­ca­te with each other or bund­le the mea­su­re­ment data. The con­ver­ter also sup­pli­es the sen­sor with power.

Design as a visual connection between assemblies and technical elements

Sen­sor and con­ver­ter result in a har­mo­nious over­all pic­tu­re that must be com­pa­ti­ble with a wide varie­ty of appli­ca­ti­ons:
in rough out­door use as well as in cli­ni­cal­ly clean labo­ra­to­ries.
Both the choice of mate­ri­als and the for­mal design of both devices under­line the pro­fes­sio­nal use. Cle­ver com­bi­na­ti­ons of mate­ri­als have resul­ted in two rock-solid indus­tri­al pro­ducts that you can trust both visual­ly and tech­ni­cal­ly. Their sophisti­ca­ted cor­po­ra­te design makes it easy for sub­se­quent pro­ducts to be inte­gra­ted into a new ROSEN pro­duct family.
