IF-winning design meets medical practice
ITd stands for innovation, technology and design and is one of the largest manufacturers of medical equipment trolleys worldwide. At the end of 2021, we took part in a pitch advertised by iTD. The search was for an innovative design for a new, lightweight equipment trolley class. What began with a pitch led to further projects for iTD two years later, for which our “Neo” design was to serve as a trend-setting design, which we are particularly happy and proud of.

Demanding requirements
Innovative, cost-effective to manufacture, easy to assemble, highly variable in configuration and all with a modern appearance with recognition value. That was the task for this product.
Pioneering design
During the pitch phase, we developed two concepts in a very short time: The edgy and technical-looking “Edge” and the “Neo”, which the client finally opted for, thanks to its modern look. The spanned surfaces, the soft shapes with compressed radii and the “Neopill shape” help the rollstand take a leap in time in terms of design. Surface modelling has also found its way into medical technology, even in the category of equipment trolleys.

Designed to be ready for the market
Thanks to the well-thought-out production-oriented design concept right from the pitch, the innovative and modern character was retained right up to production. Only minor changes, such as broadening the base to improve tipping stability, had to be made to make the product ready for the market.
Ease of use increases work quality
The trapezoidal cross section of the column promotes the clamping effect of the attachments, so that there is no need for a groove. The column is closed and easy to clean. Cable clips ensure organized cable management. The all-round plastic frame with removable flat and deep trays offers mounting options for various accessories thanks to oblong hole holders.
Whether as an ECG, ultrasound, monitor, endoscopy or similar rollstand, the lightweight equipment trolley impresses with its versatility and easy-to-clean surfaces and components.
Industrial design as an economic factor
Since the wheelbase is operated and navigated daily by hospital staff, we have paid particular attention to ergonomics and always took manufacturing costs into account, because every cent counts here. Despite the cost-optimized design, comfort for the user could not be neglected. Both handle variants are plastic parts that are manufactured using a 2K injection molding process and therefore have a pleasant TPE grip zone.

As planned in the pitch, spanned surfaces and rounded shapes dominate the design, which is guaranteed to last several years without going out of style.
ITD's rollstand is a highly innovative medical product in the lightweight equipment trolley class. The flexible configurability of ITD equipment trolleys is one of the unique selling points, which is why ITD is one of the market leaders in your business.
In the end, the ITD pitch brought us together and a close partnership was created, which not only resulted in the new roller stand.
