Practical design & sustainable change.
Projekter Industrial Design began with a simple but clear vision: to design products that are not only aesthetic and ergonomic, but also functional and affordable for many people.
Even during their studies, Philippe and Sébastien quickly came to a common conviction: A good design is more than just a “beautiful picture” - it must work in real life and be industrially producible so that it can benefit the wider society.
An encounter that changed everything
The breakthrough came soon after graduation: The supplier of Lidl's own brand “Parkside”, which was still little known at the time, was looking for a design for a new hammer drill and met the two project developers. This marked the start of the first product design family ever developed for the discount.
They worked day and night, tested countless prototypes and proved that from day one, Projekter stands for a design that can actually be implemented in the end.
A philosophy of what is possible
The core idea of this creative implementation was the fuel for the rise to become one of Europe's top agencies for industrial and product design. More than 500 international projects from all walks of life have already found their way onto the market. There is even a paddle for the German Olympic Canoe Champions.
Industrial Design Projects in Transition
We have noticed that one important aspect is often overlooked, especially when designing a product: sustainability. In order to promote this, we have developed a tool with which we can make our entire design process flow with sustainability without having to save money elsewhere. At this point, we are proud that there has also been a rethink in our discounter projects.
Modern industrial design requires modern values.
Over 120 years of industrial design experience in our Core Team.
