BlueLavage rethinks the ecologically most problematic components, the electrical components of the drive, as a reusable system. At the same time, it meets the strict hygiene and safety guidelines for sterile intensive care medicine.
Resource saving concept
BlueLavage is a completely new type of resource-efficient suction and irrigation system for tissue cleaning during surgical procedures. The system flushes bone and tissue particles, bacteria and foreign material out of the wound and continuously aspirates them.
The innovative separation into a single-use handpiece and a drive unit that can be reused up to 150 times with a patented locking mechanism leads to an enormous reduction in the amount of plastic waste (-49%) and electronics to be disposed of compared to conventional solutions, and completely avoids the disposal of batteries.
The packaging concept with the ergonomic insertion funnel enables sterile insertion of the drive unit during the operation.
We have been able to demonstrably gain many good experiences with public funding opportunities in recent years. Design is in demand and in many cases eligible.
As so often, all beginnings are difficult. The bureaucratic effort involved in submitting an application can seem like an insurmountable obstacle. We say: Don't be put off by the seemingly complicated application process. In recent years, we have been able to support several of our partners in applying for public funding. We know the processes, know how to estimate the effort and can formulate applications with you.
Excellent implementation
The 91-strong international expert jury presented the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021 to PROJEKTER for the innovative and sustainable design of the BlueLavage suction and irrigation system.
The iF DESIGN AWARD is presented annually by the world's oldest independent design institution, the iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover.
The number of applicants in the first round brought record participation: the jurors had to select the best 50 percent of all entries for the final jury from around 10,000 submissions from 52 countries.
Excellent solution
The award honors innovative products and services from small and medium-sized companies in North Rhine-Westphalia that combine essential efficiency factors - for example resource-saving product development, environmentally friendly production and reduced environmental impacts during the product life, as well as comprehensive recyclability.
